An expensive mistake…I did not write down name of the Locanda Marinella hotel when I booked in early 2011, I received no email confirmation and could not remember which hotel I had booked with.
The result was I had to find other accommodation.
On my return home, I found Locanda Marinella, Venezia had charged my bank card for the full amount.
When I tried to query it, there is no email address for the hotel, so I will have to try through my bank.
Having a mistake of not recording the name of the hotel as I booked it, has cost me $500 and it has left a nasty taste.
If hotels are going to use online booking, the least they can do is to confirm on line, so that people like me can get to the hotel or cancel if needed.
With all out other bookings with other hotels in other towns, there was no problem, an email confirming the booking was send as soon as the booking was made.
